STANLEY J., formerly of Phila., PA and Somers Point, NJ, on August 14, 2006. Devoted husband of Edith R. (nee Lavelle). Dear dad of John M. (Dee) of Colts Neck NJ, and Michael R. (Virginia) of Ocean City, NJ Pop Pop of Annmarie P., John M. Jr. (Carol Jean), Joseph A. (Kelly), Carolyn, Michael R. Jr. and Lauren. Great grandpop of Emily Rose and Aidan. Brother-in-law of Dolores Lavelle, and the late Jack and Joseph "Cookie" Lavelle. Stanley served in the U.S. Navy on a minesweeper during WWII. His first action was sweeping mines off the coast of France during D-Day. In 1962, Stanley and Edith followed their lifelong dream and opened the Happy Bee Tavern at Cheltenham Ave. and Large St. in Phila. In the late 1980's they retired to their home in Somers Point, NJ. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral Saturday after 9:30 A.M. at THE SLABINSKI FUNERAL HOME, 2614 Orthodox St., Phila. Funeral Mass 11:30 A.M. St. Martin of Tours Church. Int.
