Paul E. Macdonald (87) died on December 29, 2022 in Bethesda, Maryland. Paul Macdonald was born and raised in Bridesburg, Philadelphia. He attended the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania where he earned a degree in economics. He became a second lieutenant in the United States Army and served from 1957-1959 and then as a reservist from 1960-1964. After his military career he went on to start numerous businesses from real estate, to construction, to life insurance (Consolidated Funding Associates Inc.) and later as an entrepreneur like his Grandfather Macdonald. Paul was married to Margaret DuFour Macdonald in 1966 and they had four children: Edward, Margaret, Teresa and Aindrea. His first wife died in 1991 after a long battle with breast cancer. In 1992, Paul married Lucille E. Larkin in Washington D.C.. They had thirty years together full of adventures. Paul is survived by his wife Lucille Larkin. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law Camille Macdonald-Polski and James Polski, his four children and their spouses: Edward Macdonald and Megan Dunphy, Margaret Macdonald and Brian Colomb, Teresa Macdonald and Aindrea Tyl Pattisall and Jay Pattisall. Finally, he is survived by his five beloved grandchildren: Emma Macdonald, Owen Macdonald, Josephine Colomb, Simone Pattisall and Rozalia Colomb.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John Vianney Church, 350 Conshohocken State Rd, Gladwyne, PA 19035 on Wednesday January 4, 2023 at 11 AM. The family will be receiving guests thirty minutes prior to mass at 10:30. A reception will follow mass at the Philadelphia Country Club.
