Maxine Gontarek

MAXINE M.GONTAREK Maxine M. (ne Marasheski), entered into eternal rest on May 11, 2016, at the age of 77. Born in Wilkes Barre, PA, on April 15, 1939, Maxine was raised by her parents Matilda (ne Dzialdowski) and Benjamin Marasheski in the Bridesburg section of Philadelphia. Throughout her adult life she lived with her husband and two sons in Baltimore, MD and several towns in Westchester County, NY. During the late 1980s she and her husband owned and operated a restaurant in Telford, PA called "Maxine's Ridge Road Hotel" where their passion for fine food and entertaining were shared with many friends and customers. All who knew her will sorely miss her friendship, bright smile and love of life. Maxine is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Richard S. She was the loving mother of Jeffrey S. (Lisa Dove) and Richard R. (Jacqueline), and was the devoted grandmother of Grace and Elena. Maxine is also survived by her sister-in-law Ann Marasheski, and pre-deceased by her sister Lorraine and brother Raymond. Maxine had over 50 nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews who loved her dearly. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday May 25, 2016, beginning at 9:30 AM in St. John Cantius Church, Thompson St. (north of Orthodox St.), Phila., Pa. 19137. Funeral mass to follow at 11:00 AM. At Maxine's request, guests are invited to wear cheerful colors. Interment private.
