Maria Dinora Abreu

Maria Dinora Abreu, 96, of Philadelphia, wife of the late José Abreu, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2024 surrounded by family. Born in Vodra, Portugal, she immigrated to the United States in 1954 and made a life for herself with her husband and children. She enjoyed cooking, attending mass, and watching General Hospital. She is survived by her three children, Yolanda (Tony, Jr.), Joe, and Teresa (Peter), her grandchildren, Tony, III (Cathy), Kristina (Travis), Dinora, and Margaret Mary, her great grandchildren, Jon, Hope, Samantha, and Alex, and her nieces, Judite (José) and Marlene (Sebastião). She was predeceased by her brother José and sisters Arminda and Assunção. A viewing and funeral mass will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2024, beginning at 9.30 AM at St. John Cantius Church, 4416 E. Thompson Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19137. Mass will begin at 11am. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3301 Cheltenham Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19150.
