LISA JOAN, 41, surrounded by her loving husband and family, reunited with her firstborn son, Rylan Cruz Dorantes Haffner, in eternal Heaven on December 15, 2016. Beloved wife of Jose Juan Dorantes and loving, proud and devoted mother of Owen Armando Dorantes Haffner, age 2. Dearest daughter of Hermann and Eleanor (nee O'Keefe) Haffner. Cherished sister of Andrea Lloyd (John), Marita Haffner, Karin Mascherino (Vincent), Susan Haffner and sister-in-law Ana Lilia Dorantes, brother-in-law Ricardo Hernandez. Adored aunt of Natalie and Max Lloyd, Nicholas and Joseph Mascherino, Ana Karen and Derek Dorantes Hernandez. Welcomed by many angels, both family and former patients. Survived by her aunts, uncle and cousins of the Forrestel and Smith families and her Mexican family, Cervantes Malagon, and many dear close friends and colleagues. Honored graduate of Bensalem High School class of 1992 and West Chester University class of 1997.Lisa dedicated her life as a Pediatric Oncology Nurse at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) where she began her first battle as a cancer patient at the age of 10. Throughout her life, Lisa courageously survived several more battles of cancer always with grace, hope and determination and even triumphed over terminal diagnoses. Lisa traveled the world on her one leg, utilizing her bilingual skills, inspired many with her endless charity work. After a Newman Center missionary trip in Mexico, Lisa returned for a year to volunteer nurse at the orphanage Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos. Lisa continued to serve others fundraising and volunteering for Little Smiles, Partner for Surgery and CHOP Global Health which included traveling to third world countries. Lisa shared her story 'My Journey thru Cancer... to Survivorship' during Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses (APHON) conferences and was honored with the Alex's Lemonade 2013 Pitcher of Hope. Lisa's warmth, humor, smile, spirit, kindness, thoughtfulness and generosity will continue as an inspiration to all who have known her or will learn of her journey through her blog
