John J. Jhinis, Sr.

John J. Jhinis, Sr., 81, passed away on October 5, 2023. Son of the late Kristo and Rhoda (nee Lockley) Gjini.   Beloved husband of Nancy V. Jhinis (nee Foley).  Loving father of Thomas Jhinis (Debbie), Dayna May (Gary) and the late John J. Jhinis, Jr. (Jo Anne). Dear grandfather of John J. Jhinis, 3rd (Milena), Gary Jr., Nicholas, and Kyle May.  Great grandfather of Lilliana, Emilia and Nina Jhinis. John was the brother of the late Eugene 'Kitsy' Jhinis (Ethel) and the late Marie Williamson (the late John 'Mousey' Williamson). Also sadly missed by nieces, nephews and their families. John, a lifelong resident of Bridesburg, worked as an operating engineer and truck driver, and retired from the Philadelphia Parking Authority in 2007. He loved classic cars, especially his 1954 Plymouth convertible and 1956 Ford F100.  He was an avid Phillies fan, but what he loved most of all was spending time with his family. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Saturday, October 14, 2023 beginning at 9 AM at the Slabinski Sucharski Funeral Home, 2614 Orthodox St., Philadelphia, PA 19137. Services will begin at 11 AM. Burial to follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
