John Patrick (Jibbers) Barron passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 8, 2020, surrounded by his children and looking forward to reuniting with the love of his life Thelma (Sis) Barron. John is survived by his children Lisa (Carol), Michael (Nicole), and Sheree McGarry (Tom). He is also survived by his amazing grandchildren, our Angel Brian, Danny (Jenna), Patrick (Kristen), Frank, Kelly, Maggie, Nikki (Ryan), Christopher, and Courtney and his great grandchildren Brian, Amelia, Mason, Giavanna, and Stella. John will also be missed by his loving brother Joe (Doris), sister Mary (Bob) and brothers-in-law John and Billy (Marion). Rest assured, John and Thelma are jitterbugging in heaven and in the company of so many loved ones. John was a proud Army Veteran who loved and served his country. He drove a tractor-trailer and was a bad-ass member of Teamsters Local 107. He began his career at Pepsi and retired from Berger Brothers.
John's passion was his family, unless someone asked him to go golfing. He loved going up to Byrnes golf course and hanging out with the boys. He loved hunting, the mountains, his dogs, his cats, one of his neighbors, his friends, his grandchildren, his kids and above all his wife of 58 years, who he longed to be with since her passing last September. There are many stories about John over the past 70+ years and most people wonder why he was not in prison or the circus. Fact is, he will be missed by so many, and a bright lights shines only now in our memories. Thank you dad for showing us how to take care of our families, what a good friend is and for your brutally honest advice. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the United Veterans of Bridesburg, 2613 Ash Street, Philadelphia, PA 19137.
