JERRY, Aug. 22, 2008. Devoted husband of the late Wanda (nee Szczygiel). Father of Thomas P. (Natalie), Gina Levocz (Gary), Loretta Andrews (Steve), Karen Strough, and Ken Koons. Grandpop of 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Jerry served in the US Army during WWII with 30 months of service in Europe as an Infantryman and Signal Corp. Troubleshooter. He earned the Combat Infantry Badge, Pres. Citation, Bronze Star, 4 Bronze Battle Stars, 2 Arrowheads for Invasions, Amer. Def. and Occupation Ribbons, Good Conduct Medal and WWII Victory Medal. He was Commander of VFW Post 2 for 9 years and A.L. Post 821 Sgt. of Arms for 4 years. Relatives, friends and fellow Post members are invited to his Viewing and Funeral Wednesday after 8 A.M. at THE SLABINSKI FUNERAL HOME, 2614 Orthodox St., Phila. Funeral Mass 10 A.M. St. John Cantius Church. Int. Holy Redeemer Cem. In lieu of flowers, donations to VFW Post 2 4640 Richmond St., or A.L. Post 821 4404 Salmon St., Phila. PA 19137 would be appreciated.
