Henry "Hank" Orysiek passed away peacefully from natural causes on January29, 2021 in Hernando, Florida.
Hank was born in Philadelphia in 1928 and was a 1947 graduate of Northeast Catholic High School. He later received his MS in History from Villanova. A proud member of the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army (1951-53), Hank later served over twenty years as an officer for the Fairmount Park Commission.
A lover of fine wine and classical music, Hank was an avid historical reader who had a passion for traveling. He was known for his warm and witty personality, his entertaining stories, and his ability to make friends the moment he walked into a room. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.
His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his adoring wife, Mary. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Agnes, sister Rita, and brother Raymond. He is survived by his wife of nearly sixty-five years, Mary, and his brother Leonard.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing 10am on Wednesday, February10th, 2021 in St. John Cantius Church, 4400 block of east Thompson street in Bridesburg, Philadelphia. His funeral mass will begin 11am and his interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
