Genevieve R. Mizia

Genevieve R. "Jean" Mizia (nee Skowronski) passed away on March 5, 2022 at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Edward J. "Goldie" Mizia. Loving mother of Edward J. Jr. (Rosemarie), Linda Dozier (John Tieri) and Robert (Michele). She is sadly missed by her 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Jean is also survived by nieces and nephews. She proudly served in the United State Marine Corps during the Korean War. Jean is also a member of the American Legion Post #821, Women in Military Service for America Memorial as well as the St. John Cantius Golden Age and All Saints Seniors. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral Friday, March 11, 2022 beginning at 9am at St. John Cantius Church, 4400 Block of E. Thompson St., Phila. PA 19137. (just north of Orthodox St.) Funeral mass will begin at 11am. Interment will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jean's name to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Center for Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease by visiting Center for Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease
