Edward Carey Johnson

Edward Carey passed away on August 3, 2018 at the age of 71. Beloved husband of over 50 years to Barbara (nee Smith). Loving Dad of Ed Johnson and his wife Helene, Stacey Gordon and her husband Mike, Melissa Margotta and her husband Frank. Devoted G-pop of Rebecca and Stephen Johnson, Michael, Emily and Brianna Gordon, and Frankie and Ellianna Margotta. Brother of Joan Krazesinski and her husband Len. Ed very proudly served as an Officer in the U.S. Army just prior to the Vietnam war. Ed devoted his life to his family and his work. He worked for more than 50 years in the International Freight Logistics business. Where he made many friends and became a teacher and mentor to many as well as an icon in the industry. Ed loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. They were his biggest pride and joy and he was their biggest supporter of everything they did. Ed also enjoyed spending his free time down the shore with his wife at Green Holly Campground, he was also an accomplished and avid bowler and an LGB train enthusiast. Relatives and friends are invited to gather Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 9:30 - 11am at St. Katherine of Siena Church, 9700 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, Pa 19114. Memorial Mass at 11 am. Int. Private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be greatly appreciated by his family.
