Donald Lee Jacobs

Donald Lee Jacobs gently passed away on November 23, 2019, at Silver Lake Center, in Bristol, PA, from complications of multiple sclerosis. He was 70 years old. Don died one week short of his 45th wedding anniversary. Donald is survived by his wife, Kathe, daughter, Jacqui Edwards (Timothy), 3 granddaughters, sisters Lesley Batzloff (David), Nancy Leach (Larry) and brother Robert Jacobs, Sr.. plus many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents John Jacobs and Martha Turney. Don was born on Long Island. He attended a three room school house in Wantagh. NY, which is now a museum. He later moved to Newtown Square, PA. While in high school, he played bass guitar in two bands, the Go Getters and The Crescents. The Crescents opened for Patti LaBelle and The Guess Who. He graduated from Drexel University with a marketing degree, where he was a member of ROTC. A serious motorcycle accident ended his intended military career. Upon graduation, he joined the family business, Jacobs Machinery Corporation. Donald was gifted with a math-music brain. He was a tinkerer. Don had been an avid skier, biker and rock climber, all cut short by multiple sclerosis. Donald was president of the Fathers Association at Sacred Heart Bryn Mawr. He was Technical Director of seven musical productions there. He sang tenor with Narberth Presbyterian Church Choir and Wayne Oratorio Society. Don also played flute, recorder and harmonica. He built a Theremin. Interment will be private at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Philadelphia. A memorial service will be held at Narberth Presbyterian Church, on Saturday, January 18, 2020.Visitation 10am, Service 11am followed by a luncheon at the church.
