JELNICKI
Christine (nee Pallante) passed peacefully on May 19, 2021, surrounded by family at age 85. She will be welcomed in Heaven by her husband Joe, sons Joseph and Eddie, siblings Joe, Louie, Anthony and Dolly and her parents Francesco and Teresa Pallante. She is survived by her daughter in law Chrissy, grandchildren Lisa Tuohy (Michael) and Joey Jelnicki (Michael), great- grandsons Ryan, Adam and Christopher, many nieces, nephews and numerous friends who will miss her terribly.
"Cheech", as she was known by so many, spent many years working with her sister at Futura Industries, Ellis Coffee and Mrs. Paul's, finally retiring from Hillock Annodizing. She raised her boys in a loving home, welcoming all who visited with a meal that could feed an army. She was small in stature but she had a heart twice her size. Her toughness and perserverance were admired by all. Cheech was always ready to share a story. She'd spend weekends rolling meatballs and making gravy, while Pavarotti or Bocelli played in the background. She would sing along with every word, in Italian, only half understanding what she was saying. She will forever be our "little lady" who, though she stood the smallest in our family, towered over all of us in strength and love. She will forever be missed by so many.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral Tuesday, May 25, 2021 beginning at 10am at St. John Cantius Church, 4400 Block of E. Thompson St. Funeral Mass will begin at 11am. Interment St. Dominic's Cemetery.
