Charlotte M. Russell

CHARLOTTE RUSSELL (MURAWSKI) born October 1, 1922 in Philadelphia, PA the eleventh of twelve children born to John Murawski and Augustyna nee Wisniewski passed into eternity on April 20, 2024 joining her parents, siblings and children.  Charlotte was the wife of Joseph Maxwell Russell (deceased in 1981) and mother of Michael ( Deceased 2/15/2011) and Jeffrey (deceased 10/06/2004).  Predeceased by her siblings Helen nee Furmanski   (d, 1960),

Elizabeth Murawski  (d.1906), Jane nee Prosser (d. 2001), Felix (Fred) Murawski    (d. 1975), Cecilia nee Sommers  ( d. 2007), Sophia (Sue) Stankiewicz  (d. 1998), Genevieve nee DeFrances  (d. 2005), Stephanie nee Calandro ( d. 2001), Edmund (Butch) Murawski (d.2009), Stella nee Demberger (d. 2012) and Edward Murawski   ( d. 2021).

Born and raised in Bridesburg  on Almond Street across from St. John Cantius RC Church, she was a lifelong resident of Philadelphia, and a graduate of Little Flower HS, class of 1941.

Frequently appearing in Philadelphia newspapers, she modeled for Saks Fifth Avenue and independently for various groups and charities before becoming a Fashion Consultant for Saks and thereafter Bonwit Teller.  In later life, she became a Real Estate Agent for Fox & Lazo Realty (Philadelphia).

She is survived by her nieces and nephews further extending on to the third and fourth generation.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral Thursday, April 25, 2024 beginning at 9:30am at St. John Cantius Church, 4412 E. Thompson Street, Philadelphia, PA 19137. Her funeral mass will begin at 11am. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.
