Alice E. Owens

Alice E. Owens (nee McCormick) of Philadelphia, PA., passed away peacefully on Augut 26, 2022 at age 83. She was pre-deceased by her first husband Richard Sobon, her second husband James J. Owens and her son Richard Sobon Jr. Alice was the mother to 3 children and Grania to 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters Maryalice Sobon Brennan and Eileen Paonessa as well as her brothers Martin McCormick Jr. and John McCormick. Alice was a lifelong accomplished artist participating in classes and exhibits into her 80's. Her parents Martin and Margaret McCormick were born in County Mayo, Ireland. Alice was a strong activist in support of Irish causes and loved to visit her many cousins in Ireland. Relatives and friends are invited to viewing on Thursday, September 1, 2022 beginning at 9:30 AM at the St. John Cantius Chapel, 4420 E. Thompson St., Philadelphia, PA 19137. Funeral Mass 11 AM. Burial to follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alice's memory to the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America, MSAA National Headquarters, 706 Haddonfield Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002 would be appreciated by her family.
