Alexander C. Konieczny, 91, of Philadelphia, PA passed away on February 1, 2021.Beloved husband of Anne (neeKaminski).Loving father of Valerie A. Seminack (Thomas) and Elizabeth A. Whitman. Also sadly missed by his grandchildren Christopher Seminack, Kierstin Stanko (Peter), Thomas Seminack Jr., Katherine Rooney (Michael), Jacqueline Whitman, his great-grandchildren Foster Rooney and Nolan Rooney. Son of the late Charles and the late Elizabeth (Forys) and brother of the late Frederick. Alexander attended Northeast Catholic High School and La Salle University. He proudly served in the US Marine Corp during the Korean War. He was a member of St John Cantius Church and belonged to the Rosary Society. Alex was employed by Sears Roebuck & Co for 34 years until they closed their doors. He deeply loved Anne, his wife of 66 years, with whom he enjoyed traveling near and far. Together, they cruised and toured a great deal of the world. He commented that he had been to every continent with the exception of Antarctica. Music was a large part of his life. He was a professional musician and played the guitar. As a young man, he played banjo for the Polish American String Band. Alex led and toured with the Allen Page Trio and later was a long time member of the George Giordas Orchestra. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 beginning at 9 AM at St. John Cantius Church, 4420 E. Thompson St., Philadelphia, PA 19137, Funeral Mass to follow at 11 AM. Burial will take place on a later date at Washington Crossing National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome donations in Alexander's memory to St John Cantius Church, 4415 Almond St. Philadelphia, PA 19137
